Installing Softaculous using SSH
Posted by on 30 June 2014 07:56 AM

If you’ve got a VPS or a Dedicated server with cPanel and would like to install Softaculous Apps Installer, here’s what you need to do:

First off, you need to install and enable Ioncube Loader for PHP

Once you’ve done that, just run the following commands one-by-one by accessing your server through SSH using your root credentials:

# wget -N http://files.softaculous.com/install.sh

# chmod 755 install.sh

# ./install.sh --quick

Bingo! That’s all. All your cPanel accounts will now see a new section called Softaculous Apps Installer using which you can install some great web apps using a single click.

If you’d like to customize the apps displayed on Softaculous Apps Installer, you can do it easily. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Login to WHM

  2. Search for the Plugins section on the navigation to your left

  3. Click on "Softaculous (Instant Installs)" in this section

  4. On this page, you’ll see a wide range of Web Apps that can be installed using Softaculous Apps Installer.

  5. Just enable all the Apps that you’d like to see on Softaculous

That’s it. You will now see the new apps visible under the Softaculous section of your cPanel accounts
