Maintenance Notice:

Please be advised that the KVM VPS Hardware Nodes will be undergoing a scheduled maintenance as per the schedule and for the reason mentioned below.


Reason: Spectre Meltdown Patching on Hardware Nodes


What are Spectre and Meltdown?


You’ve probably already read about one of the most widespread security issues in modern computing history — colloquially known as “Meltdown” (CVE-2017-5754) and “Spectre” (CVE-2017-5753 and CVE-2017-5715) — affecting practically every computer built in the last 20 years, running any operating system. To know more about the vulnerability, please read the article.


Action Taken :

We have updated Kernel/Microcode packages on all our hardware nodes and need to reboot the server to make it effective.


Maintenance Window:


Day & Date: June 2 2018 | 21:00 IST

Start time: 21:00 IST

Duration: 3 hours

 Affected Services:  

All services will be down during the restart  of the server. The servers would be inaccessible for 5-10 mins during the maintenance window when the hardware node is rebooted.
